The fifth annual Louisiana Film Festival – Student
Division will be held March 26 & 27 at The Robinson Film Center in downtown
Shreveport. Included in this year’s festival are 30 original short films created
by students ranging in age from 8-18. While many of the student filmmakers whose
works were selected for inclusion in the festival are from Louisiana (including
two young filmmakers from Shreveport), submissions were received from as far
away as California, Rhode Island, and New York.
ABOUT GUEST FILMMAKER SEAN DONNELLY
In addition to screenings of student works, the festival will also include a
screening and workshop with guest artist Sean Donnelly, a professional animator
based in New York City. Donnelly recently completed work on the Sundance Film
Festival Audience Award-winning documentary Waiting for Superman,
directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth). Donnelly will host
a screening of his animation reel on Friday, March 26 at 7:30 PM and a free,
hands-on workshop on stop-motion animation on Saturday, March 27 at 12:30 PM.
Awards in each category will be presented and the prize-winning films replayed
at 3:15 PM on Saturday, March 27.
The Louisiana Film Festival – Student Division is an annual co-presentation of

made possible in part by a grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council with
funds from the City of Shreveport and the Louisiana Division of the Arts. For
